Cross Healthy Eating Off the List
New research suggests that broccoli may help prevent heart disease. Use the American Heart Association's interactive grocery list tool to remember to include heart-healthy foods like broccoli in your shopping trips.
Your New Year’s Resolutions may include eating a heart-healthier diet—something that’s often easier said than done.
To encourage you in your goal, new research has found that broccoli may help prevent heart disease. Broccoli is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and other nutrients. In a study, broccoli-fed rats had better heart function and less damage to the heart muscle when oxygen deprived.
The American Heart Association offers an interactive online tool that can help you remember to include foods like broccoli as you plan for heart health-centric shopping trips.
Called “My Grocery List,” the online tool can help you find your favorite dishes in seconds. Foods are listed by brand as well as category. By adding an item to your list, the tool creates a shopping list you can save for later, and then print before you head to the store. You can also add items manually.
